Anniversary Dinner

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary tonight and it was incredible!

He had surprised me by taking the day off of work since he will be away for out anniversary, which is March 19th, and we spent the entire day together with Valeria. It was nice and relaxing, Valeria refused to sleep. I don’t know if it’s the fact she had both of our undivided attention today or what, but that little girl did not want to sleep more than 45 minutes at a time.

Next he surprised me with another little gift. I came out of the shower and by the pile of clothes I had set aside to put on, he left a tiny box. Yes, you guessed it, a jewelry box. He came into the bedroom, instructing me to open it and there sat the ring I had my eye one months ago! I already got my gift, I didn’t expect this and I couldn’t believe he remembered.

It’s a Disney ring, Villains collections under Ursula from The Little Mermaid. Just in case anyone didn’t know which movie she was from. It’s stunning and really no photo does it justice, not even these. I love the colour combination and the design, it has her tentacles! So cool and absolutely surprised me for the first time ever. My husband really can’t keep a secret when it comes to gifts, he gets so excited that he usually let’s it slip. I love him for that, it’s one part of his personality that I love.

But this ring was not the cherry on top of the cake, which should have been! Oh no, we went for a fancy dinner as well, even got a free ice cream cake slice out of it to share. We got all dolled up because when do we get to do that these days with a five month old, like really. And I have to say we were looking pretty fly or fresh, oh man my 90’s is showing!

The restaurant was beautiful and quiet, it was dimly lit, very romantic and we got a nice cozy little booth. The waitress was so sweet and congratulated us on our anniversary (I know that is probably just her being forced to do it for the job, but it was sweet nonetheless) and very attentive. We both ordered steaks with twice backed potatoes, though my husbands order was messed up and he got mashed potatoes instead of his twice baked. He didn’t mind and I gave him some of mine to have. We also got some sauteed mushrooms to share, oh man was it all of it DE-LIC-IOUS! And I forgot to take a picture of our meals….oops! I did get a photo of our dessert though.

This was so yummy, oh my goodness!

The whole day was absolutely terrific and I couldn’t have asked for a better early 4 year anniversary. My husband spoiled me to say the least and the little tungsten ring that I got him was peanuts compared. I wish I had got him that watch I saw, sigh.

Going to spend the rest of the evening lounging and digesting.

Ciao!!

    1. But of course! We could never completely leave her out, we even thought about bringing her to dinner however grandma insisted we celebrate that part alone. I think she just wanted Valeria to herself lol

  2. Congratulations! You can give him the watch for his birthday, Father’s day or Christmas 🙂 Love your new ring. I am biased since my son’s and grandson’s birthstone is amethyst. I do feel however that posting the cake was a little mean LOL because NOW I want cake 🙂
