I know that the majority of people will probably be writing about this event, however it was extremely anticlimactic where I live. We were just outside the path of it, so it really only got dark for like a minute. I attempted pictures, but they didn’t turn out. It was dim for the rest of the time, which was from around 2 PM, peaked at 3:15 PM and ended somewhere around 4:30 PM.
I looked at the sun…without glasses! Ahhh the horror!!! I just made myself laugh, I’m so ridiculous. I promise my eyes are still intact even without those specialty glasses.
I believe that events like this can cause….a shift in energies if you will. Just like a full moon can sometimes disrupt sleep or change a person’s personality. I have a pretty funny story about full moons, let me indulge for a moment.
My eldest brother, when we were kids, would always become angry and completely change in regards to his personality under a full moon. We used to call him Werewolf and would always joke “It must be a full moon, Werewolf has come out! Check outside!!” In which, we were always correct. You essentially would just stay away from him, for your own good. I was always hopeful he’d sprout hair and a snout, but sadly never did.
As significant as the events of today were, and granted it was quite interesting to see the sky darken even for a moment where I live, it definitely had some effects on Valeria’s sleep. She has been doing extremely well with her sleeping recently, until today.
She was a tad fussy in the morning, with a short morning nap. Her early afternoon was no better, she really didn’t want to sleep at that point and her third was during the eclipse, which we had just put her down when the sky went dark and she woke up wailing like a banshee. She fell back asleep after an hour of consoling only to sleep 20 minutes. The frustration was real today. Then her evening nap was nonexistent. And well tonight was just a struggle. Two hours of soothing, feeding, crying and the pattern repeated.
Energies are real; solar and lunar energies greatly effect us, even if some are not aware. Not always negatively might I add. Anyway, I’ll stop babbling about energies.
To chalk up the day; Valeria had a rough one, I still was fighting my headache (it’s continued to linger even still) and my husband was the only one to have an okay day. The eclipse was meh and it’s an event I’ll be able to talk about to Valeria one day. I even have terrible photos to prove it!
Hope you all enjoyed the eclipse today, until next time!
Ciao!!
