“Missing” Package

Sorry for the blur but it’s it a beaut!?

I do an obscene amount of online shopping for good reason; usually I can score amazing deals, things are generally cheaper and I hate crowds so going to stores or malls gives me mad anxiety most the time. Especially around Christmas, oh man, I DO NOT go out to the stores at that time. Plus the convenience to have it delivered to the house is wonderful.

Between Amazon, Etsy, Book Outlet, Temu, Patpat, and other online retailers, I can pretty much find anything.

I’m a unique soul if you haven’t noticed and making my “work” laptop as unique as myself was a priority for me. So I had found this awesome laptop sticker on Etsy (Image above) and when I had placed the order I forgot to check where it was coming from. To my surprise, it was coming from Europe, Ukraine to be exact and I knew it would be a bit of a wait.

Well nearly a month later and I finally got an email that stated it had been delivered. All excited, I run to the front door, open it and see…..nothing….absolutely nothing on the porch. I check the side of the step, the mailbox, even behind our patio chair and niente.

Of course I begin to panic and run down to my husband, explaining what had happened. “Maybe it’s in the mailbox? Babe do you think it can be in the mailbox??!!” He replied with a maybe and that we can check once we find out the mailbox number and get the key from my dad.

For the youngins out there, mail used to be delivered to the actual house, now there are community mailboxes where you walk to the end of your street, open your designated box and get your mail. Hence why we still have a mailbox on the porch. But I digress!

I was panicked, I even asked my parents if they had picked it up or saw it on the porch. Nope, neither of them had. Then I thought, maybe it was stolen or maybe it was never delivered. Do you see how my crazy brain works now?

My husband kept telling me to calm down and sometimes if the package is small enough, UPS will hand it over to the postal service to deliver instead but mark it as delivered on their end. He informed me we would go take a look in the mailbox after dinner when we went for out walk.

As we were walking out the door, I grabbed the key from my dad, asked for the number and off we went. Valeria strapped in her carrier on my husband’s chest as we walked at a quick pace to the mailbox. We also really wanted to get a second walk in before the rain hit.

I put that key into the keyhole, turned, opened and….

Low and behold there it was! My beautiful “missing” package. I was so relieved and my husband just laughed, smirking “See I told you it’d be here….what would you do without me?” I laughed and told him I had no idea but that he was right. Valeria just sat there staring at us like we were crazy. I clutched onto that package all the way home.

Once we got home and I had a second, I then opened up the package, took out my beautiful sticker. Which to my surprise, she sent me two. Not sure if it was a mistake or not, but I’ll take it. Then I followed the instructions and applied. It says to get rid of the bubbles by pushing them out with a credit card, but seriously…..ain’t nobody got time for that! Plus the bubbles are tiny and I don’t really care.

All in all I am soooo very happy with my purchase and it’s very me to say the least. Valeria even kept trying to touch it, she looks leopard print just like mommy.

But that was my day for the most part. Took two walks with Valeria which she loves being outdoors, made BBQ for dinner (my husband BBQ’d, I marinated) and put Valeria down early since she was exhausted. A really good day to be honest. And now, I am enjoying the beautiful sound of heavy rainfall outside and watching the lightning flash through the window. Heavenly!

Hope you had a wonderful day wherever you are in the world.

Ciao!!

  1. Score! Back in the day, and I mean when I was a wee kid and my Granny was my age, most people didn’t go to the store and everything was delivered. Placed an order with the grocer, butcher, pharmacy, etc and it was all delivered right to your door. Needed EVERY thing else, well there were catalogs and you picked what you wanted, placed your order and every thing was delivered to your house 😉 so you are not strange AT ALL. Great score on your sticker it is fabulous. I scored a digital picture frame today and I am in love 🙂 🙂 🥰

    1. Oh I love that! That’s a wonderful memory to have of your grandma too and it makes me feel very vintage 🤣🤣 I remember every year as a kid getting the Sears Catalog and marking off everything I wanted. My mom even bought some of our clothes from there, oh good old times ❤ Oooo that's so cool you got a new digital frame! I've never gotten one of those, are they totally worth it?

      1. I love, love, love this frame! It is scrolling all the pictures and videos of my grandson….and, of course, every one else 😂 now I can actually see the 3,000 plus pictures and videos all day every day. 😂 It was a means to an end to free up space on my phone but it has really turned out to be a blessing!

      2. Oh that sounds incredible! I have so many pictures just sitting on my phone and I don’t want to print them all and throw them into a photo box. I just might have to invest in one of these digital photo frames

      3. If she is anything like my grandmothers, they call it nonsense and walk away from our phones or computers when we try to show them something. My one grandmother calls Google – Googoo 🤣🤣
