May Goals

This won’t be too length of a post since my schedule is already filling up quickly and my husband started his paternity leave today. I generally try to do these posts on the first of the month, but you know….six month old….enough said.

So I’m going to make this simple and realistic, now let’s begin:

  • See my financial advisor – Already scheduled
  • See the Nutritionist – Already scheduled and I still need to post about that
  • Get my hair touched up – Already scheduled

Side note: Seems like I’m off to a pretty good start so far!

  • Get my car cleaned on the inside and out
  • Complete my driving test for the highway so I can get my full license – I’m seriously nervous about this one.
  • Shave my dog
  • Book Valeria’s Baptism with the church and register as parishioners
  • Clean
  • Re-arrange the living room
  • Sell some things we don’t need – household items
  • Enjoy the May long weekend!
  • Take a few trips with Valeria – family, day trips, etc
  • Continue at least two walks a day
  • Continue counting calories
  • Increase my water intake to two 40 oz tumblers a day, at least
  • Clean out the wagon and water/sand put plastic turtle my brother gave us
  • Tidy up the garden
  • Finish my novel
  • Review a new Anime show I’ve been watching and loving!

Now, like I stated before, some of this is already in the works and I’m not planting a full garden this year. I just want to pull some weeds and the dried plant stems out of the planter boxes. I also want to help my mom set up her outdoor furniture.

A nice healthy list though as usual, but I’m not sweating it if I don’t get everything accomplished. I do what I can and we’ll go from there.

Wish me luck!

Ciao!!

Paternity Leave

My husband has decided, about a month and a half ago, to take his paternity leave. He can be off until January 2025 if he so chooses. He started his paternity leave yesterday, May 3rd.

There were a number of reasons he has decided to take the time off, but here are just a few:

  • I’m not doing well; by that I mean my recovery has been a bit up and down, my body has gone through so major changes that is effecting me more than I’d like and I’m constantly tired.
  • Working all day and taking night time duty is taking it’s toll on him. I’ve offered to take night time duty as well or at least share, but he insists on taking it on. I know it can be rough some nights, but I generally am partially awake in case I need to step in and give him a break. It’s a lot for him.
  • We both agreed that we wanted to be outside more with Valeria, spend time with family and take Valeria on little “adventures”. We’re hoping to explore more of what Ontario has to offer in terms of tourism, especially geared toward kids. We may even get to hike to a waterfall, who knows!
  • We have a lot happening in terms of family events including planning for Valeria’s Baptism. We wanted to be able to enjoy those experiences without worrying about us getting back home so he could work.

Those are the major points, plus I’ll be honest, I miss him. I know he works from home and sometimes went into the office, but I tried not to be a bother to him while he’s working. He tries to spend time with Valeria during the day, but he’s busy with work and sometimes he has meetings all day long. It will be nice to be able to wake up with no alarms, just naturally and just get going for the day. Doing whatever we have planned or maybe even spontaneous, I’m up for both honestly.

I’m just really looking forward to it and I want to get him a cigar to celebrate his paternity leave. He deserves it.

I just hope he doesn’t regret being home with me and Valeria 24/7. Guess we’ll find out!

Ciao!
