Long Weekend Outing

It was a long weekend here in Canada, Civic Holiday, but we don’t really celebrate that to be honest. However, mama needed a new laundry basket and thank goodness Walmart was open today! One of few stores that were.

So, we hopped in the car (I got to drive yay!!) and went on a little outing to Walmart and well…

We couldn’t resist putting Valeria in the laundry basket that was in the cart, however our daughter wants to stand all the time and be a little daredevil, as you can see below.

Now, we normally get a lot of smiles and awes from other customers (she’s adorable what can I say!), but everyone looked at us like we were terrible parents or that they were just miserable. There was only one older woman who stopped and was interacting with her and telling us how cute she was.

But I promise she was safe, I wasn’t going fast with the cart and making sure to carefully turn corners. We were always right next to her as she was standing up. But she was having a ball just cruising around; smiling, laughing and even growling a few times.

Yup, growling is her new favourite thing to do right now, she thinks it’s the funniest thing. I think it’s so cute to be honest!

Anyway, it got us out of the house before the rain hit and it wasn’t bad just walking around the store. Bonus, we got everything we needed….and then some!

Hope you had a wonderful day wherever you are in the world!

Ciao!!

Bonus – WordPress Prompt – Prehistoric

I imagine, if humans were around during the time of the dinosaurs (Mesozoic Era), much like humans during the Paleolithic era, it would have been horrifying and essentially survival of the fittest. Can anyone tell I was a bit of a nerd? But let’s have some fun with the question anyway!

I’ve always been fascinated with dinosaurs ever since I was a kid and the movie, The Land Before Time, was my jam! Who didn’t love the gang; Littlefoot, Petrie, Cera, Spike and Ducky. Each with their own personalities, traits and struggles. You grow up loving each of them for different reasons. Then came Jurassic Park, which blew your mind (back in the 90’s), and to witness these creatures coming to life on screen was amazing!

However, if I had to pick one…well that’s a tough choice. I’ll give you two: A Stegosaurus or Brachiosaurus. Spike always captured my heart for the sheer fact he always just wanted to be a lazy bones, kind of shy and loved to eat. Apparently, Stegosaurus are considered to be the dumbest dinosaur because of their small brains. I’m not sure that’s true, but we will never know! Still adorable in my opinion though!

As for the Brachiosaurus, well the classic scene in Jurassic Park of the one sneezing has always had my heart and still makes me laugh to this day! Their tall stature would have been a wonder to see. These beauties were always made to be gentle, veggie loving creatures on film. And I often wondered if that was true. Again, we will never know!

Sadly, every prey needs a predator or else the ecosystem would be out of control. But who wants to bring back a T-Rex, Velociraptor, or the Mosasaurus?!

No thanks!

I prefer a world without dinosaurs, even as fascinating as they may be. As more fossils are being discovered, more is being learned about these incredible creatures, but I’m happy just looking at the bones in museums.

Which dinosaur would you bring back?

Ciao!
