New Favourite Mug

It is no surprise that I am a die hard Gilmore Girls fan, like how can I not be?! It was a show done before it’s time and a show that wouldn’t even dare exist now….for many reasons. I literally re-watch the entire series every fall. I seriously can’t wait until Valeria is older so that her and I can HOPEFULLY share this love for the show.

BUT when I say that I screamed internally when I saw this from a mile away (not literally a mile away…just sayin’), I did! As a die hard fan and team Luke from the start, this had to come home with me.

It is giant and glorious and will be one of my favourite mugs forever. I would have preferred to have made a cup of coffee in it first, but when I got home from my outing with my mom, I opted for a peppermint tea instead.

I know it might seem silly, but this made me happy! Just thought I’d share a little blip from my day.

I hope you are having a joyful December, and have a wonderful day or night wherever you are in the world!

Quiet Celebrations & Cozy Moments at 36

Happy Birthday to Mommy! As Valeria would say.

Yes, yes another year has gone by and I turned 36 yesterday….yeah getting one step closer to 40. Which to be honest doesn’t scare me in the slightest surprisingly.

My birthday was great though, until the end of the night, but don’t worry we will get to that shortly.

I requested a quiet and relaxed day, just to be and spend time with my husband and Valeria. Not expecting any sort of big celebration (I don’t like being the centre of attention especially on my birthday), I tend to enjoy something low key. I received plenty of wonderful birthday wishes from friends and family which started the day. Anthony and Valeria took me out to grab Starbucks; which I wasn’t able to get my free birthday drink and had to contact customer service online; who informed me their systems are having technical difficulty and I’d receive my coupon soon. Nevertheless, didn’t ruin the morning, then we were suppose to go to the pet store but it got late (more on that story in another post) and we decided to head home to put Valeria down for a nap.

She decided to take a big, long nap which was good since her molars coming in and her growth spurt have made her super tired these past few weeks. I was able to bum around and game a little bit…I know totally nerdy, but I enjoy it! Anthony went out to grab flowers for me while Valeria slept, which are absolutely beautiful. When she woke up, we went to the pet store and then over to mom’s for an impromptu birthday dinner/cake. Pizza and cake, reminds me of childhood, sadly I paid for it later. Valeria sang a cute and priceless version of Happy Birthday along with everyone else, but she was by far the loudest and cutest. It was incredible….hums ‘Happy Birthday Mooooommmy..’

We headed home around 7 and got Valeria right to bed, she was a bit of a cranky pants. Thankfully her eyes shut and she was out like a light snoring. I, unfortunately, was bloated and my stomach was in discomfort. Gotta love stomach problems! The rest of the night was spent in bed with Anthony, sipping peppermint tea and watching a new Christmas movie that was on Netflix – Jingle Bell Heist. Really good if you want a fun and different rom-com Christmas flick.

Eventually the night ended with Anthony passed out in bed and me heading down to the living room to writhe in discomfort quietly so I didn’t disturb him. Thankfully, it eventually subsided enough for me to pass out on the couch with the Christmas tree lights keeping me company.

The perfect day….regardless of the ending.

I hope you enjoyed my little birthday recap.

Have a wonderful day or night wherever you are in the world!

Happy Birthday to My Amazing Husband!

To my husband Anthony,

Thank you so much for being such an incredible husband, partner and my best friend. We have been through so much, not only in this last year, but in the nearly six years that we’ve been together.

You are my anchor; strong, loving, and endlessly devoted. You have the ability to make me laugh even on the hardest days, with that sense of humor that fills our home with warmth and joy. Your strength is beyond, showing up in the way you protect, provide, and standing by the people you love most. You are extremely stubborn at times, but it’s that very stubbornness that fuels your loyalty and unwavering commitment to your family. Watching you as a father is one of the most beautiful parts of my life; the way you love, teach, and cherish our daughter melts me every single day. Your my rock; the steady, loving presence that keeps me grounded and reminds me just how lucky I am to share this life with you.

Happy Birthday my love and to so many more!

I Love you ♥♥♥💋💋💋

Serious Question….

This has been something I’ve been kind of pondering lately and I’d like to get some readers opinions about it.

The book review section of this blog, is it something you enjoy or should I start a whole new blog for my book reviews?

Thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated in the comments!

Just…EW!

Now I know I am about to offend some people with this post, but truly I don’t understand the hype about these stupid drinks.

Exhibit A:

Now generally I wouldn’t buy into the “craze” of things, but I was genuinely curious why people were literally buying out stores for these, getting into physical altercations and spending obscene amounts of money. But why?

I came across these at our local Costco and half the skid was already gone, so I said ‘Eh, why not…” with a shrug and not going into trying these overly hopeful. I was extremely correct. Frankly, a waste of money.

The witch’s brew is this super sour apple flavour with a really weird after taste and the pumpkin cream….OMG DISGUSTING! The pumpkin cream tasted like canned pumpkin in a fizzy drink form, metallic and the after taste lingered. Anthony didn’t mind the witch’s brew but I dumped all of the pumpkin creams down the sink, thankfully the box didn’t contain very many of them. How that passed the taste test to be sold to customer’s is MIND BOGGLING!

Would I ever buy this brand in any form again in the future? NOPE!

Was I correct in not to believe the hype and all the social media reviews raving about this? YUP! Don’t believe everything you are “sold” on social media.

Try at your own risk, but hard pass. I wish I had spent my money elsewhere.

Hope you enjoyed this makeshift complaint/review.

Have a wonderful day or night wherever you are in the world!

Disclaimer: Missing Photos

Sigh!

This is a disclaimer, if you notice photos are missing from my posts, it’s because I thought I was cleaning up my media files on the site. Not thinking it would delete them from the posts, I guess I was terribly wrong. I will try to go back these last few posts and re-select the photos.

Apologies

Smooth Moves Only!

Well, April 1st came and went quicker than we even anticipated. We’ve been having some really wishy-washy weather, but on moving day we were blessed with sunshine. Thank goodness, because I did not want to move in the weird rain/snow combo we’d been having.

The move was pretty fast, to be honest, because in hind-sight we didn’t really have much to move out anyway. A few big items; television, full bedroom set, love seat, two chairs, two computer desks, small filing cabinet, new kitchen table (still in the box), BBQ (still in the box), computer chair and a rocking chair. The rest was bags and boxes. Plus, we got the keys the previous night and we were able to move a few things prior. The rest we started early the next morning. I’m also so thankful for my brother Marco who helped us move. If he hadn’t, I’m not quite sure how Anthony and I would have managed. Plus my mom watched Valeria while we were dealing with the move, so that was a MASSIVE help as well.

Once everything was moved (with some odds left behind at my parents to pick up later – sorry mom!), it was time to officially go over to the house. My brother was kind enough to help us put our bed frame together so we had a bed to sleep on and we thanked him with Pad Thai food. He went home with his dinner in hand and for some much needed rest.

My head, however, was spinning from the chaos of everything…..EVERYWHERE. The guys tried to put things where they thought they would go and to be honest, they weren’t far off with most of it. But the mayhem of it all was stressing me out. I had to start unpacking something and the kitchen would be the first to be conquered.

Now, I obviously didn’t get very far that night, but enough that I could cook breakfast for Valeria the next morning was good enough for me. The silence of the house was….different. Not in a bad way, but it was peaceful and eerie at the same time. I have to admit, all three of us have never slept so well.

Needless to say, the house is slowly coming along and the move was great! I’ll now be able to get some things in order and hopefully settle into my blogging schedule properly. I’ll post photos of the house when it’s, well done!

Hope you are having a wonderful day or night wherever you are in the world!

Moving Madness: Why Do I Have So Much Stuff?!

As much as I’m absolutely thrilled about moving into our own space, let’s be real—packing is a NIGHTMARE! One minute you’re excited, the next you’re drowning in a sea of boxes, random knick-knacks, and things you swore you’d lost years ago.

Since we started packing at the beginning of the month, I keep finding things that make me either nostalgic or just plain confused. “Oh, that’s where that went!” has become my catchphrase. And, of course, having a child means double the accumulation. I swear half of our moving truck is going to be Valeria’s toys, clothes, and random baby things she outgrew eons ago.

I’ve been trying to de-clutter as I go—donation piles, garbage bags, the works—but let’s be honest, I’ve mostly just packed everything up and will deal with it later. (Future me is gonna love that.) Selling things online? Ha! I tried. People are so flaky, and everyone wants to haggle over already cheap prices. I’d rather just donate it and call it a day.

Saturday is D-Day for dropping off donations and garbage, so that’s at least one less thing to worry about before the final move. And since we’re currently in my parents’ basement (no shame, they were lifesavers), I’ll be coming back next week to clean it spotless. Much easier when there’s nothing left in the fridge or pantry to deal with!

But man, this is pure chaos! Wrapping things, shoving them into boxes and bags, dismantling furniture—it’s exhausting! And yet, only one week remains, so I have no choice but to power through.

Wish me luck, because I’m going to need it!

Wherever you are in the world, have a wonderful day or night!

A New Chapter: Our Move into a Rental Home

Change is coming, and on April 1st, we’re officially moving into our own rental home!

This move has been a long time in the making, and it just feels right. As much as we’ve cherished our current space, we knew it was time for a change—time for a place to truly call our own, a space where we can grow, breathe, and create new memories. Most importantly, it means more room for Valeria to run, play, and just be the little ball of energy that she is. Also a massive toy explosion!

There’s something so refreshing about stepping into a new space— cozy corners to decorate, and a fresh start that feels like the perfect next chapter. Of course, the moving process is chaotic (seriously, how do we have this much stuff?!), but the excitement outweighs the stress.

As April 1st gets closer, we’re soaking in all the anticipation and counting down the days. We can’t wait to settle in, make this house a home, and share the journey with all of you. Here’s to new beginnings, bigger spaces, and a whole lot of unpacking! Just until we can afford a home of our own and then the process starts all over again.

Stay tuned for updates—once we dig our way out of these moving boxes, and send some good vibes our way to make sure we don’t get buried in them!

Ciao!!
