Bonus – WordPress Prompt – My Wish..

What do you wish you could do more every day?

Who doesn’t have a laundry list of things they want to do more of every day? My list is honestly endless and it’s hard to narrow it down to just a few, but I’ll try!

  1. Cleaning – Yes, yes I know this one is super lame. As I grow older I’ve noticed I like things at least tidy if not outright super clean and I can be particular for certain things. *Cough cough Dishes* But with Valeria only being 5 months, I hardly have time to properly clean or clean much at all on a daily basis.
  2. Walking/hiking – I love to walk/hike and though I haven’t done any crazy hiking trails, I do really enjoy being out in nature. It is so calming and soothing for me, but sadly over the years has fell to the wayside. I would really like to get back out there and start again, especially now that we have our daughter.
  3. Watching Movies – Oh I would watch movies all day I could! I love the whole experience of watching a movie with all our snacks and drinks, cozy under the blanket and ruining the plot for my husband within five minutes. That last one isn’t on purpose I swear, but sadly some movies are predicable! I love watching movies in more so at the Drive-In, which we used to try to do at least once in the summer.
  4. Enjoying my coffee in peace – Sounds selfish, but mornings are sometimes hectic and I miss the times I’d get up super early, make coffee and just be with my thoughts and going over what needs to be done or what’s happening in my day.
  5. Driving – I’ve been slacking on driving mainly because I hate driving in my city now. People are insane here and incredibly aggressive, but I miss being behind the wheel of the car and cranking my country music.

I would say those would be near the top of my priority list, some are not suitable to mention here…you get what I’m sayin’!

I hope this wasn’t too boring for ya. I’m not all that exciting I swear!

Bonus – WordPress Prompt – Only One?

What is one word that describes you?

I have to admit this is difficult and it depends on the person you ask to describe me. Some would say sassy, others sarcastic and some even say kind or sweet.

I myself would say I’m guarded. The reason being is that I am very much closed off to most people, which seems like I’m being standoffish, but ultimately I like to get a read on people before I open up. I’m not a typical person and though I seem bubbly and what not; I am a bit of a nerd, goth, brutally honest and I have varying interests and hobbies. Some people would take my interests as weird, but it is what it is.

Trust me when I say, I’m not your typical mama. I’m not like an onion, I’m more of a pistachio, you gotta crack me open to get to the good stuff and it takes a little bit of work.

Bonus – WordPress Prompt – Weathered

What is your favorite type of weather?

Now this is an unfair question to ask because I’m sure like everyone, we have multiple types of weather we enjoy. I know I do!

The crisp cool freshness of a fall morning where you can literally smell the leaves in the air and just slightly see your breath in front of you.

Or a beautiful summer day where the sun is full and bright, the heat warm upon your skin and just a slight breeze to cool you down, the smell of fresh cut grass lingering in the air.

Or even still a beautiful summer thunderstorm. Where the rain hammers down, steam coming off the pavement from the heat absorbed from the sun, feeling humid and sticky but refreshing all at once and then the crack of the thunder cutting through the sound of the rain. Heavenly to me.

So how could you ask me to pick just one? That’s impossible WordPress and cruel!

Bonus – WordPress Prompt – Influenced

Who was your most influential teacher? Why?

This is an easy answer and not even a question in my mind as to who I would pick as my most influential teacher. Granted I was fortunate enough to have some great teachers in my childhood and youth, but one stands out above the rest, Mrs. Hollaway.

She was my 3rd and 4th grade teacher, but all through elementary I stayed in touch with her, until she tragically passed away in an automobile accident. I was in grade 7 when that happened.

She was so kind, caring, loving, encouraging and she saw potential in every student. She was the first teacher to recognize I was having trouble reading the blackboard (I needed glasses), she pushed me to try out for the school play because I loved to sing (I was the youngest cast member and had a lead role), try out for basketball and volleyball (I was a little chunky, but I wanted to play so badly!) and made me fall in love with bears (which at the end of the school year she would give us a bookmark, book and I got a stuffed animal which was a bear).

She had this way of engaging us as students, making learning fun and creative. To say this woman had an influence on my life is an understatement. She was above and beyond as a teacher and just as a person in general. They don’t make teachers like her any more, no offense to all the teachers out there possibly reading this.

To this day, I still sometimes reminisce about her or bring up a story from my childhood involving her. She was a wonderful lady and taken from this earth way too soon.

R.I.P. Mrs. Hollaway, you will always been remembered and missed.

Bonus – WordPress Prompt – Tattoo

What tattoo do you want and where would you put it?

It’s no surprise I already have tattoos, but I want so many more and thankfully my husband is okay with this fact. He doesn’t currently have any, but he wants some in the future.

For myself I want:

  1. A Valkyrie for my daughter Valeria with her name within the sword. Ideally I would like to get this as a thigh piece, but since I’m working on my fitness, it might be some time before I get this one.
  2. Cardinals, four to be specific, one for each of my grandparents. I’d like this on my right shoulder and to be in pairs as a couple perched on a branch.
  3. The paw prints of my animals and their names underneath; Paige, Willow and Salem, though not quite sure where I’d put this one.
  4. Scripture of the words Bella Vita (Beautiful Life) and I’d like it potentially on my right wrist or maybe behind my ear.

For now those are the ones I most want and eventually I’ll have them in time. For now I’ll stick with the two I have: my star on my hand between my thumb and index finger (also known as the thenar space) and my Sagittarius astrological arrow tattoo on my left forearm. Which I will post below.

Bonus – WordPress Prompt – Round Trip!

You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, car, or bike?

Not even a question here it would be a car. I love road trips and being able to stop in little towns to walk around and explore, stop for scenic photos and just go whenever we want.

Granted a plan is quicker by far, but the security checks and the waiting around in the airport is booooooooooring! It’s not much of an adventure until you get to your final destinations. And just think about all the fun and interesting things you missed out on along the way.

I would love to do a road trip out to the East Coast of Canada and one across the entire United States. I think it would be so much fun, but that may have to way until Valeria and future children are out of diapers.

Bonus – WordPress Prompt – Pure Bliss

What activities do you lose yourself in?

Cooking.

Plain and simple.

The kitchen is my happy place and I can literally spend hours in there prepping, cooking and experimenting. It is an activity I absolutely love and get lost in, has been that way ever since I was really young. I like to learn new recipes, experiment with flavours and everything in between.

I just started a sourdough starter, so I’m learning all sorts about that, though I need a bigger jar. And can someone explain sourdough discard? I’m not quite understanding that one.

But yup, cooking is my bliss!

Bonus – WordPress Prompt – Spirit Animal

Which animal would you compare yourself to and why?

I’m going to keep this short and sweet, but if I had to compare myself to an animal it would be a bear.

I’m a mama bear through and through and have been calling myself that forever, even before having my baby girl. Now it’s even worse! I’m protective and territorial, don’t push me too far or I will “bite”!

I’m plump like a bear, with thick hair and sharp claws, especially when I have fake nails. I can be graceful and agile at times, but also clumsy and cuddly too. I’m clever and intelligent, if I do say so myself. Not to mention I love the outdoors.

Now to touch on my maternal instincts, I fiercely protect and nurture my baby girl, I take pride in watching her grow and learn from me. Also, I don’t take people speaking poorly of her in any way, so I do snap back when I hear something negative. I will always protect her no matter what.

Who wouldn’t call me a Orsa (bear)?!

Bonus – WordPress Prompt – Dear Me..

Write a letter to your 100-year-old self.

Dear wrinkles!

Well, you made it to 100, you can now go peacefully in your sleep! You just had to be the stubborn one, proving to everyone, including yourself, that you could live this long. Bravo, you did it!

Life has not been easy by any means, but it was also not boring either. The things you experienced and accomplished were incredible and unique. And the world’s chaos was overwhelming. Witnessing countless wars, 9/11, going through a forest fire/evacuation, multiple pandemics and the list goes on. It’s extraordinary what you’ve seen in your 100 years on this earth.

But with all the negatives, there were also so many beautiful positives. Life was filled with love, joy and everything in between. You married your soul mate, who is hopefully still alive; cranky and muttering in Romanian next to you. He was always more stubborn then you ever were, so I could see him fighting to 100 but shhh don’t laugh too loud after reading that.

I hope Valeria comes to see you often and I could only imagine, at 34 years old, how beautiful, intelligent and successful she has become. Watching her grow now is such a wonderful experience, I could only imagine the rest of her life.

Well old girl, we never got our zombie apocalypse you and your husband joked about, especially if you made it this far. Now hold hands with Anthony and let go. That letter from the Queen, I mean King, or whatever Royal Family member sits on the throne now, will eventually make it to Valeria some day for you.

Rest easy.

P.S. – God I hope you made it to Italy at some point in your life, maybe you were even lucky enough to live there for a time.
