June Recap: Sunshine, Setbacks & Small Wins

I can’t believe June is gone already, it makes me really sad to be honest because that means only two more months of summer. Queue crying face right now! However, let’s stop thinking about that and go over the goals that were set for June. Did I accomplish anything? Let’s seeeeeeee!

  • Work on my health – both physical and mental
  • Print some photos for the house and for relatives
  • Organize the basement
  • Get some herbs for the porch and an Aloe plant for the house
  • Get my nails done
  • Learn to use a Cricut
  • Write more
  • Create a new wreath for spring
  • Finish the two novels I’ve been struggling to finish and get back on track with my reading challenge
  • Make Father’s Day special
  • Celebrate all the birthdays we have this month
  • Get more sleep
  • Spend more time outside with Valeria
  • Go see my husband’s side of the family
  • Plan for my cousin to come visit

I’d say not too bad for the month of June and looking forward to July. Here is an extra photo to hopefully put a smile on your face, at least rainbows always make me smile.

To be fair, it was much brighter in person but my phone camera can never capture the beautiful true colours of nature.

Well that’s all for today, I hope you had a terrific June! And I hope you have a wonderful day or night wherever you are in the world!

Ciao!

Bonus – WordPress Prompt – Sweet Tooth

Now, I thought I would try one of these prompts and frankly I’m not sure I’m even doing this correctly, but I found this question interesting. I haven’t thought about this in a long time and as an adult, I have to say I don’t really eat candy much any more.

Though I thought about what I used to eat as a kid, which like all kids, was way too much candy. But how could you not? Where we lived back in the 90’s, we could go to the corner store, get a little plastic bag (by little I mean the size you use to put fruits and veggies at the grocery store now) and fill it up for 75 cents. Tops one dollar if you had some specialty candies in there. Crazy how times have changed huh?

But back then there were so many different candies: hot lips, cinnamon hearts, gummy bears, Willy Wonka fun dip, gummy coca-cola bottles, gummy worms, sour keys, licorice of all flavours, chocolate cigarettes (Yes, that was a thing! They would come in little fake cigarette packs), Ring pops, Gobstoppers, Hubba Bubba gum, etc. The list is honestly endless.

But now, if I had to pick a candy, it would be Hot Lips. For those who have no idea what those are let me explain. They are a chewy texture with a spicy cinnamon flavour, the candy is red and in the shape of pouty lips. They are absolutely delicious! And to be fair, you only need a few before you call it quits, which makes them a bit of a bonus for me.

Hot Lips!

I believe they are a Canadian candy, but if you ever get a chance try them! I mean if you like cinnamon that is.

Is there any candy specific to your country? What’s your favourite candy? I would love to know!

Ciao!
