February Recap

I thought it would be great at the end of every month, moving forward, to do a recap. I had a pretty lengthy to do list and it seemed never ending, however it seems I crossed a few things off that list. Let’s recap, shall we?

  1. Go through my clothing and get rid of anything I no longer wear, fits or need – i.e. bring to consignment or donate – Work In Progress: Just didn’t have the time, let’s be real.
  2. Clean up my desk – It’s a disaster!Completed: Thank goodness!
  3. Plan out blog posts on a weekly basis – Work In Progress: I started doing this, then left it to the wayside. Will try to do better in March!
  4. Finish It Rides A Pale Horse by Andy Marino and write a book review – Moved on to another book! I’m saying this is completed because this book has now gone on my DNF (Did Not Finish) List. Out of sight, out of mind. Will pass it along to someone else!
  5. Organize: 1. Our food pantry/fridge, 2. Valeria’s clothing (by age), 3. My clothing (by season/active wear), 4. Get my husband to organize his clothing, 5. The living room and re-arrange – Work In Progress: Well I got the fridge/pantry done, so it’s a start. Now to work on everything else in March!
  6. See my family on my dad’s side (nonna, zia & zio, my cousin) – They haven’t met Valeria in person yet Completed: Oh it was such a lovely visit ❤️
  7. See my cousin on my mom’s side (I haven’t seen her in 10-15 years, we recently reconnected and talk every day)Completed: It was amazing and like no time had passed ❤️
  8. Photograph Century Manor in Hamilton – Blog post to follow once photos are capturedCompleted: 📷 Stunning building, was able to capture incredible photos and a lengthy post to boot! https://mamaonthemove1.com/2024/02/05/century-manor/ & https://mamaonthemove1.com/2024/02/06/century-manor-haunted-part-2/
  9. Make a list of 3 places I’d like to visit with Valeria and my husband (day trips) and photograph our outingCompleted: Century Manor, Pioneer Village and Castelli Mercato – Fun little outings!
  10. Sell some household items on Facebook Market place – Trying to declutter. ‘I wonder if I could become a minimalist…’ – Work In Progress: Honestly, this one I just didn’t have time for this month.
  11. Complete a few wood burning projects – one is currently in the works and the other is a gift idea – Work In Progress: I’ll post a photo of one of the projects I need to finish down below. I enjoy wood burning and it’s a project for next Christmas.
  12. THOROUGHLY CLEAN – I need to do a deep clean of our living space. I mean scrub, dust, shine, etc. You name it, I’ll be doing it – Work In Progress: I’m a slacker what can I say! I really do need to jump on this in March.
  13. Begin my Sourdough starter – YES! I am so excited for this you have no idea – Work In Progress: March 1st, it’s happening!!
  14. Get back to the gym and keep working on my weight loss and nutrition – Work In Progress: I wanted to say this is completed, but it’s not. I’ve gone back to the gym, but my nutrition needs to be in check. Which I’m determined to have in better shape in March and going forward.

Now, sorry you had to read through that WHOLE mess, but it was easiest for me to do it this way. I feel okay about the progress I made on my list, obviously some things will require a bit more time and quiet. I also want to add a few more to-do’s….like I need any more!

Now to recap Valeria; she has learned to stick out her tongue, blow raspberries, has become a rolly polly – rolling non-stop, spit bubbles and now she is able to reach and pull on the toys above her play mat. Boy is she aggressive with that last one, she makes like a miniature battle cry when she does it. Warrior princess in a past life?!

We’ve also been reading to her every night, which is both relaxing for me and keeps her engaged with the photos in the books. Some even have things she can feel and touch, it’s amazing for her development. Not to mention her mother is a book worm and I want a little reading buddy in my “Reading club of one.”

She is also growing like a weed, so I’ve been trying to put her in clothing she hasn’t worn yet, just to say I’ve had her wear it even once! I definitely need to rotate her clothing to the six month stuff already. Mama mia, she’s growing too fast!!

Current Project I need to finish and no I didn’t do the trees, I found the cutting board on sale with that already carved into it 😋

That’s the monthly recap, nothing too exciting, but eh doesn’t always have to be.

Until next time…

Ciao!!

Bonus – WordPress Prompts – It’s a job?

I’m now a stay at home mom, so yes I do enjoy my job. And before anyone says that stay at home mom isn’t a job, I’d rather not hear it. It’s a 24 hour, 7 days a week job.

I am with my daughter all day, every day; caring for her, feeding her, changing diapers, teaching her, reading to her, bathing her etc. There is a reason most parents run on coffee.

I used to work production at a corporate office, sitting at a desk all day long with little reward or recognition and I will never work another corporate desk job again.

Now with my daughter; it’s new adventures, experiences and learning, even for me.

Ciao!
